Mary Ross's birthdate is also given as 1659; since her parents
were married Dec 6, 1658 after having earlier been charged
with fornication, and since the next child was apparently not
born until 1660, this may have been an attempt to clean up the

From "Rear Admiral Thomas Graves 1637 Settler of Charlestown, MA and His Descendants,"
, it is noted that Joseph and his first wife, Elizabeth Maynard, moved to Sudbury, MA. Elizabeth died in 1676 and in 1678 Joseph married Mary Ross, daughter of James Ross and Mary Goodnow. Joseph was a soldier in King Philip's War.

Also Queen Anne's War; his house was burnt during the Indian
attack on Lancaster in 1704. One of 99 Lancaster men who bought
of the Indians that territory later known as Sterling.

With his brother, James, he took part in Sir William Phips' Expedition against Quebec in 1690. On 31 Jul 1704 his home at Lancaster, Worcester, MA was burned during an Indian raid.
Henry Biddles' data shows Anna Rice, Wife of Thomas Ross and daughter of John Rice #1991 and Tabitha #1992; b. ca 1678 at Sudbury, Middlesex, MA; d. 5 Nov 1753 at Lancaster, Worcester, MA. According to the Rice genealogy, that Anna is a granddaughter rather than a dauughter of Deacon Edward Rice and Anne/Agnes Bent, and she is not shown with the children listed here.
